Eliminate fluorescence with this compact, high sensitivity 248 Raman spectrometer for research. Designed for use with a 248.6 nm compact NeCu laser in a free-space configuration, it also enables cost-effective application of UV resonance Raman.
Ideal for fluorescence-free research & UV resonance Raman
400 – 3200 cm-1 measurement range enabled by our custom longpass filter
Captures clean spectra in seconds (see example spectra below)
Collects a collimated FOV using integrated lens (user-changeable free space input available)
High NA, f/2.0 design based on our own VPH grating for superior sensitivity
Choice of uncooled or TEC-regulated detector to suit application needs
Triggering accessory included to synch acquisition with laser
We’ve maximized the efficiency of our 248 Raman spectrometer to give you more sensitivity, better SNR, and faster measurements in a compact footprint. Collect more light with our f/2.0 input, keep more light with our patented high transmission VPH gratings & diffraction-limited optics, and detect more light with scientific-grade detectors. When tested side by side, our spectrometers consistently outperform larger, more expensive units. From sample coupling to detector cooling, we give you more options to get the exact performance you need, powered by our free ENLIGHTEN™ spectroscopy software.
We believe you should have full control and maximum flexibility when configuring your 248 Raman spectrometer. That’s why we offer several build-to-print options for resolution, detector cooling, and sample coupling – backing each with our advice and experience. Learn more about each below, or contact us to discuss the best options for your application.
SLIT WIDTH: Defining Resolution
Sensitivity and resolution are competing factors when choosing slit size. A larger slit allows more light to enter the spectrometer, increasing sensitivity for low-light applications such as fluorescence. Resolution improves, however, as slit width is reduced (though not always linearly). We offer a 25 μm slit as standard for the WP 248 for the best balance between sensitivity and resolution for most applications. Please contact us if you feel a different slit size would be best suited to your research.
SAMPLE COUPLING: Integrated lens or free-space?
How you interface with your Raman sample depends on your preferred sampling optics. The standard configuration for the WP 248 Raman spectrometer features an integrated lens designed to efficiently couple collimated light into the f/2.0 spectrometer input. We also offer a free-space input to collect light from an f/2.0 field-of-view (FOV) upon request. The two coupling options are user-exchangeable in the field.
The WP 248 Raman spectrometer may be configured with your choice of sample coupling (integrated lens or free space). Our standard option is an integrated lens designed to efficiently couple collimated light into the f/2.0 spectrometer input. We also offer a free-space input, which is user-exchangeable in the field. The spectrometer is designed for use with a Photon Systems 248.6 nm NeCu laser, and includes a compatible triggering accessory. Need help designing your free-space sampling optics?
