ENLIGHTEN™ Manual: Batch Data Collection

<< SAVE OPTIONS | TABLE OF CONTENTS | SPECTROSCOPIC TECHNIQUES >>

Batch Data Collection allows you to take a series of automated, unattended spectra at scheduled intervals. This is useful, for instance, should you wish to conduct overnight monitoring of a sample spectrally, or perhaps simply generate an extended strip-chart of your spectrometer’s temperature over time.

Batch Data Collection has two parameters: the number of spectra to collect, and the time to wait between collections. Neither parameter has any effect if the “Enabled” checkbox is not ticked, and the batch does not start until you click the “Acquire” button on the capture screen. Note that each spectrum will be saved in a separate file unless the “append” mode of CSV files is selected.

Finally, be aware that the delay between batch saves does not pause between spectral acquisitions; in contrast, the spectrometer continues streaming data to the on-screen graph at its normal integration time throughout the collection. Rather, the batch delay specifies how long ENLIGHTEN™ should wait between saving samples from the continuous stream of on-screen spectra.
