Primary Job Responsibilities
- Create assembly and part models, detailed drawings, and bills of materials in SolidWorks
- Participate in engineering change management and document control processes
- Build engineering prototypes
- Perform product validation testing and document results
- Design and fabricate tools, fixtures, and jigs to support Production
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to improve manufacturability and reliability
- Conduct tolerance analysis to ensure robust mechanical performance
Experience/Qualifications
- S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 1–3 years of experience in product design and development
- Proficient SolidWorks skills in part modeling, assemblies, and detailed drawings
- Strong curiosity and desire to understand customer applications
- Clear and effective communicator
- Strong time management and prioritization abilities
- Ability to generate clear reports, presentations, and spreadsheets
- Working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) for defining and interpreting mechanical tolerances
- Experience with optics or photonics technologies is a strong plus
